When I was a kid in elementary school, the teachers would give out what were called “negative incident reports” when one of us would exhibit bad behaviour. It was just a simple slip which detailed what we did, and obviously no one wanted them. However, some became so used to receiving them that they lost their initial power.
In almost every class I’ve ever taken, I’ve had to remember some kind of information. Whether it was dates for history, facts for science, or passages from books for English, memorization has been part of my student experience.
We have an outdated approach to pronouns.
When you’re trying to become a master at your craft, some days can be more difficult than others. At times, you may feel like it’s all you can do not to throw your hands in the air in defeat and give up. It can be very tempting, particularly when you’ve faced some setbacks. During these moments, it might take an extraordinary amount of effort to actually get up and continue making progress in your work.
